Could someone please help me understand these torque values?

Kinja'd!!!

I’m wo ndering what the proper torque is for an M14x1.5. I already know that the answer is hand tight because its going into aluminum and has a crush washer. However, I decided to look up the torque info as I have yet to have occasion to do that with the 02. Obviously the mkp to lb/ft conversion is there, but wtf is going on in the table below?

Happy Friday!

W ha t is the grade of bolt? If you have a grade 10.9 M14-1.5 bolt you would torque it to 115Lbft

The side row is the thread.

The left side is how much rotational torque to apply. The right how much preload force it applies.

The top row:

so “ 16,0+2" in the table = 16? 16*7.2 = 115.2?

Yes, 16 with a tolerance or -0/+2. So 16-18 mkp.
